Kristin Mentzer received her Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law in May of 2008. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, cum laude, from the University of Florida in May 2003.
She has nearly 7 years of experience in the areas of civil practice, commercial litigation, bankruptcy and contract disputes. Kristin made the switch to family law in early 2015 to join West, Green & Associates, and have a more rewarding practice. She was drawn to marital and family law to help families through difficult times, and she excels in getting clients the best result in their cases. Through her diverse legal background, Kristin has tailored and effective negotiation skills for a vast array of legal issues and personality types. Kristin frequently participates in seminars to stay up to date on Florida family law updates and current cases.
During the 2 years prior to law school, Kristin was a research associate for Magnus Research Consultants, Inc., a trial consulting firm. During her tenure at Magnus, she had an active role in mock trials and litigation analysis.
While at Levin Collage of Law, Kristin received a pro bono certificate for her involvement with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, Florida's Institutional Legal Services and The Law School Mentoring Project. She was the student assistant for the University of Florida's Director of Trial Advocacy and the Trial Practice Program.
In the community, Ms. Mentzer serves on the Greater Orlando Human Trafficking Task Force (GOHTTF) legislative subcommittee. She also serves as International Justice Mission’s Florida Advocacy Leader and is a lobbyist for anti-human trafficking legislation.
